Batch separations

Whole folders, ready for the press.

Every raster and SVG in the input folder is separated into spot-color plates in a single pass — each logo gets a numbered plate set plus a combined press report.

📁

Folder → Folder, One Click

Pick an input and an output folder. Every PNG, JPG, WEBP, BMP, TIFF or SVG is processed in a single pass.

🔢

Numbered Plate Sets

Each logo gets its own numbered plate set, so multi-client rebrands stay organized from the start.

🎨

One .svg + .png Per Plate

Every spot color becomes a single-color vector .svg plus a transparent print-resolution .png for burning screens.

🧪

Nearest-Ink Matching

Each plate is named with its HEX plus the closest ink name, so the press knows exactly what to mix.

📊

Coverage % Per Plate

Ink coverage per plate helps estimate ink usage and quote jobs before you burn a single screen.

📋

Combined JSON Press Report

A single batch-separations-report.json summarizing every plate of every logo — hand it straight to the press.

📈

Per-File Progress + Failure Log

Live per-file progress in the status bar; unreadable files are skipped and logged, never fatal.

🔒

Offline & Private

Everything runs locally. Unreleased client artwork never touches a server — ideal for agency rebrands.

Workflow

Three steps to a folder of plate sets.

Pick the input folder

File → Batch Color Separations. Choose the folder of client logos — raster or SVG, mixed is fine.

Pick the output folder

Vecspine creates a numbered plate set per logo inside the output folder, plus the combined report.

Hand off to the press

Each plate ships as vector .svg + transparent .png with nearest-ink name and coverage %; the JSON report summarizes the whole job.

Output anatomy

What lands in the output folder.

A predictable, press-ready structure for every logo in the batch.

FAQ

Batch separation questions.

What does Batch Color Separations produce per logo?

Each logo gets a numbered plate set: one single-color vector .svg plus a transparent print-resolution .png per spot color, plus a combined JSON press report for the whole folder.

What is in the JSON press report?

Each plate's HEX, nearest ink name and coverage percentage, grouped per logo — ready to hand to the press for quoting and ink mixing.

Which input formats are supported?

PNG, JPG, WEBP, BMP, TIFF and SVG. Every supported file in the input folder is processed in a single pass; mixed folders are fine.

How is this different from single separations?

Single separations (Plates tab / Export Color Separations) handle one logo. Batch Color Separations loops the same separation over a whole folder and adds the combined report and numbered plate sets.

Which license tiers include it?

Studio (3 machines) and Agency (10 machines). Solo includes single-logo separations only.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Everything runs locally — no uploads, no telemetry, no per-export credits. Air-gapped print shops welcome.

Stop separating logos one at a time.
